Concept
[Monkey.D.Luffy] returns in this red/green deck. A Leader with high defensive abilities, gaining +2000 power to defend for each DON!! card you rest on your opponent's turn. By using {FILM} type Characters whose effects set your DON!! cards as active, you will be able to keep attacking while also boasting a rock-solid defense.

Early Game
"OP13-001 Monkey.D.Luffy" is a Leader who specializes in defense. When your opponent attacks, you can rest up to 5 active DON!! cards to give your {Straw Hat Crew} type Leader or Character +2000 power.
To use your Leader's effect, you will need to give it 1 DON!! card while still having other active DON!! cards available as well.
Start by playing Characters like "OP13-023 Uta" and "OP13-037 Roronoa Zoro" to prepare active DON!! cards.
"OP13-023 Uta" cannot be protected with your Leader's effect, but has a powerful [On K.O.] effect that allows you to play a Character card with a cost of 5 or less from your hand.
If your opponent tries to K.O. it in battle or using an effect, don't overcommit to protecting it. Instead, use its effect to play another Character from your hand to maintain your attackers.
The Character will be played rested, so be especially careful if your opponent might attack again!
Mid Game
Leave the defense up to your Leader's effect, and keep playing out one Character after another to bolster your attack.
"OP13-031 Trafalgar Law" is a powerful Character that can exchange a small Character played in the early game for a Character with a cost of 5.
"OP13-027 Sanji" is ideal to play in such an exchange, as it will set up to 2 of your DON!! cards to active [On Play], then further set 1 more DON!! card as active at the end of turn, which is a perfect fit for your Leader's effect.
"OP13-118 Monkey.D.Luffy" can set up to 4 DON!! cards as active with its [On Play] effect, but you will not be able to play Characters with a cost of 5 or more during that turn.
You can either use the active DON!! cards to play Characters with a cost of 4 or less, or save them for your Leader's effect. Assess the situation and make use of your DON!! cards accordingly.
End Game
In the late game, you'll want to play out high-cost Characters while also keeping as many DON!! cards active as possible to block your opponent's attacks using your Leader's effect.
This is the best time to play "OP13-028 Shanks". Able to set all 10 of your DON!! cards as active with its [On Play] effect, its 12000 power effectively costs 0.
Although you cannot play cards from your hand during the turn you play it, you are still able to give DON!! cards to your attackers. Attack your opponent with high power, while also leaving 5 DON!! cards active to maximize the potential of your Leader's effect.
If you have a [Counter] Event, you can choose to leave 6 DON!! cards active. Using "OP13-040 I Know You're Strong... So I'll Go All Out from the Very Start!!!" on your opponent's first attack will reduce your active DON!! cards to 5, meaning you can still use your Leader's effect during the next battle.
However, note that once you use a [Counter] Event on an attack, you will not be able to also use your Leader's effect in that battle. This is because [On Your Opponent's Attack] effects need to be used before activating [Blocker] and [Counter] effects.
